We use Delta-E 2000 — the international standard for measuring perceptual colour difference — to mathematically compare the AI's pixel sampling against known reference values. This is the same science used in print, medical and industrial colour measurement.
Our GPT-5.5 powered AI reads each test result independently, cross-referencing the pixel colour data against the kit's colour chart. We measure accuracy across pH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and other key parameters.
To receive AquaBuddyAI Approved status, a kit must achieve consistent high-confidence readings across all tested parameters with minimal variance from known values. Kits that cause AI misreads due to vial shape, colour chart design or ink quality do not pass.
